Marriage retreats are designed to encourage and enrich your relationship. Much different from marriage counseling, an event like this will enable husbands and wives to grow in their appreciation for God's love for them and their love for one another.
Where to turn? Wouldn’t it be nice if there was a classic example for the relationship between husbands and wives that would guide marriages today?
The Old Testament book of Ruth is an exquisite gem of a historical short story. It provides a lovely case study for the relationship between husbands and wives, with profound insights into Christian love and uniquely Christian communication. At the same time, this inspired scripture points beyond itself to the world's only Redeemer and the true source of every good thing we desire for our relationships. This text will serve as the grounding of this marriage seminar, and our time in Ruth will be bracketed in each of our four sessions with enjoyable, practical, and time-tested approaches for the promotion of healthy married life. This includes a piece on how to maintain all this wisdom long-term. Our time together will conclude with a deep dive into the power of the words we can learn to offer one another.
