Distancing by Advancing

God interrupts our desire to distance ourselves from evil and danger by advancing right at them. The Son of God is not afraid or more disgusted with evil so that he would shrink away or avoid. He goes out to meet it in order to redeem souls from it. Therefore, those who have been redeemed from evil by the gospel do not avoid and are not afraid. No matter how bad things look and no matter how evil things may seem, the Savior casts evil away and equips us with his saving gospel to move forward against every evil.
