Planting for Later > Storing Up for Now

Jesus’ followers do not reject all earthly wealth. We do not avoid it or despise it. We are grateful for every good gift that comes from God. But we also recognize that earthly wealth is just that – it is earthly, and so it is limited only to this earthly life.

Our heavenly life is now “hidden with Christ in God” until someday it is fully revealed when we also “will appear with Christ in glory.” For that reason, every day we put to death whatever belongs to our “earthly nature.” Instead, we who follow Jesus plant our ambitions and efforts in things above, not in earthly things.
