Substitution

When we face life’s hardest battles, giving up is a tempting option. After all, our own might, mind, abilities, and efforts are no match against our greatest enemies: the devil, the world, and our own sinful nature. Yet we have a substitute who stands in our place, a champion who took on flesh to confront all our enemies. Jesus is not only by our side; he stands out in front. So we surrender in faith to his fight on our behalf as he becomes the substitution we need.
